Las lluvias caidas durante los últimos días y las experiencias de días anteriores de alguno de los compañeros del trabajo hacían presagiar que hoy sería un buen día para salir en busca de Niscalos.

La enorme extensión de pinares de repoblación que cubren la comarca Palentina de la Valdavia fué el lugar elegido para esta jornada de campo con la familia.

El día amaneció completamente cubierto y con una tímida niebla que no acababa de agarrarse al suelo y pronto se diluyó, dejando un cielo encapotado que amenazó a lluvia durante toda la mañana pero sin llegar a caer. La temperatura era muy agradable.

En un primer pinar, un paseo muy corto bastó para convencernos de que allí no encontraríamos Niscalos. Las condiciones de humedad del suelo eran perfectas, pero nada, de momento se resistían. Solo pudimos ver algún corro de otras setas que más que la cesta, animaban el objetivo de mi cámara.

De tanto mirar al suelo se encuentra lo que no se busca, en esta ocasión un ejemplar enorme de Sapo Común que se refugiaba al amparo de una mata de brezo.

Decidimos subirnos al coche y cambiar de zona para ver si teníamos mejor suerte.
